Taq DNA Polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase derived from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus. It is obtained through recombinant expression and purification in Escherichia coli, and it has a molecular weight of 94 kDa. This enzyme exhibits 5’→3′ polymerase activity and 5’→3′ exonuclease activity, but lacks 3’→5′ exonuclease activity.
